WHAT HAPPENNED

We are at one of the most magical places in Istanbul: The Toy Museum. While working on stories with museum-owner and acclaimed poet Sunay Akin, we realized that toys are very difficult to preserve, since children –us, once upon a time – can’t appreciate their true values. How about the deals we all made with our parents? “If you eat all your vegetables this week, I might get you that kite!” To make our moms and dads proud, we prepared a six-course menu from the food we resisted eating during our childhood. At the beginning of the night, we placed playing cards next to every plate and asked our guests to hold onto them until the end of the night. After each course, a group of four were randomly selected by card numbers and taken upstairs to the galleries where toys are on view. Each group went to a different room and experienced a different story from a talented actor.
